Our digital journal serves as a knowledge sharing and publishing platform for written work and multimedia projects aligned with IGLI’s focuses on grassroots women-led movements, feminist peace, holistic approaches to the polycrisis, creative activism, and defending democracy and human rights. The journal will amplify grassroots voices, student perspectives, and innovative and imaginative thinking about shifting systems towards a feminist future. We accept writing, art, poetry, zines, and any other creative medium related to our focus.

Our core goal at IGLI is to connect and support feminist activists and thinkers worldwide, while also building public understanding and power to fight for a better future. The digital journal will allow ideas to circulate and create new conversations and connections between students, activists, academics, movements and more. Over time, the hope is that our digital journal will become a known platform for feminist scholarship, accessible to the average reader. Rather than treating academic scholarship and activism as separate forums, the digital journal will connect movements and scholarship to build a more cohesive and just future.

The title of our Digital Journal (and podcast) is inspired by abolitionist scholar Ruth Wilson Gilmore, who reminded us that, “What the world will become already exists in fragments and pieces, experiments and possibilities.” Follow along to learn from those engaged in these ‘experiments and possibilities,’ whose work offers us a blueprint for how we might build a world that is free from violence.
